Cronin Architects is an Architects practice originally established in 2004 and has earned a reputation for high-quality design and client satisfaction.

Our priority is helping clients achieve a great architecture that serves their needs and exceeds their expectations.

Our collective achievements include Diarmuid’s role as Senior Architect & Technical Manager for the construction of the QP district, Qatar, a $2 billion mixed-use project in the heart of Doha's business district comprising nine office towers up to 47 stories, a five-star business hotel, Tier III Data Centre, restaurants, a conference center, and other amenities. Other achievements include Senior Architect on the King Abdullah Financial District, Saudi Arabia as well as PM Consultancy to The Digital Hub, a government urban regeneration project to create a hub for digital media companies within Dublin city.

By working together with our clients from the outset of a project, we combine our knowledge and expertise to devise innovative, sustainable design solutions.

Diarmuid Cronin

Practice principle, Director & Senior Architect, BA Arch, MRIAI, PMP, RIAI Conservation Grade III

Diarmuid is a Registered RIAI Architect with a BA honours in Architecture from London Southbank University, where he studied under Sir David Adjaye OBE. He has an accreditation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as RIAI Grade III Conservation. As a member of the USGBC he also has extensive LEED sustainability experience on some of the world’s largest projects as well as strong knowledge of BREEAM, GSAS, DEAP and more.

Diarmuid Cronin has over 20 years experience working in Ireland, the UK and the Middle East. He has worked on project with designs of Foster & Associates, SOM, Gensler, Zaha Hadid and more. 

He has extensive experience in role of project architect for both large complex services intensive projects including Mission Critical buildings as well as a range of sectors from Residential, Commercial & Hospitality to Community, Healthcare & Conservation.

He has been in private practice since 2004 and provides the practice direction and lead. Please do not hesitate to contact him directly should you wish to discuss any projects.

John Duggan

Senior-Technologist & BIM Manager

Chartered Building Engineer, Reg. Building Surveyor, FCABE

John’s previous experience is gained from working for many years with other award winning architectural firms such as Murray O’Laoire, Healy & Partners and includes also his Engineering and Surveying development background. This experience, together with his qualifications, allows him the ability to develop, detail and deliver building solutions for effective project implementation. John manages the implementation of Building Information Modelling for the company having extensive knowledge of Autodesk Revit modelling software. He has delivered in-house part time courses on 3d building modelling and architectural visualisation software at Limerick Institute of Technology. He has a keen interest in sustainable technology and is heavily involved in developing ECO office standards for new and existing building methodology having completed a CESBEM (Competence Enhancement In Sustainable Building Through European Mobility) programme at Kompetenzzentrum Centre, Bieberach, Germany

Vineta Vilsone

Accounts Manager, registered & certified ATI member

Vineta holds a Bachelor of Business & HR Studies Degree and qualified as an Accounting Technician achieving Diploma in 2016. She has 15+ years experience working in Ireland and Latvia as HR manager, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project manager and accounts administrator. Being multicultural and multilingual (English, Latvian, Russian) she has experience looking at opportunities and problems from different perspectives

Michael Gardiner

Junior Architect, BA Arch, MRIAI

Michael is a graduate Architect with a BA honours in Architecture from The University of Limerick in Ireland. He gained experience in all areas of architecture while studying at UL and before completing his degree in 2019, Michael won the AAI (Architectural Association of Ireland) Young Architects of Ireland Competition.

Along with his love of architecture, Michael is a 2-time World Champion Irish dancer and has toured the world with Riverdance. Along with his brother, he has grown a social media following of over 1 million people. Having this outlet and experience allows him to consistently work on his creativity and look at the design process and challenges from different perspectives.

Michael is always eager to learn and develop his skills as an architect and is excited to be a part of the team at Cronin Architects.
